Our Privacy policy explained

We do not sell, rent or otherwise make available any personal data submitted by you to any third parties that are not affiliated with The Dog Breeders Association®. This information is understood by us to mean your breeder number, name, address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address and any other detail that is deemed as personal. This information will not be used for any direct marketing or unsolicited follow-up unless we have previously informed you of this possible use and you have given us your express permission when submitting the application. With your permission, we will use this information for such purposes as:

  • Sending you paper publications or other correspondence.
  • Sending you e-mail press releases or notification.
  • Delivering goods or prizes.
  • Delivering pre-ordered advertising and promotional material.

Only authorised staff members of E&L® and The Dog Breeders Association® (who have agreed to keep information secure) have access to personally identifiable information. We do make use of non-personally identifiable statistical information (browser type, page views, site traffic, preferences, geographical location, age, gender) for optimisation and marketing of our site as part of our continual internal review process and in a general way to learn more about the consumers of our products and services. This information will not be disclosed to third parties that are not affiliated to The Dog Breeders Association®. The Dog Breeders Association® is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.

When you supply any personal information to The Dog Breeders Association® (e.g. for competitions, The Dog Breeders Association® services or a Dog Breeders Association® membership) we have legal obligations towards you in the way we use those data. We must collect the information fairly, that is, we must explain how we will use it and tell you if we want to pass the information on to anyone else.

In general, any information you provide to The Dog Breeders Association® will only be used within The Dog Breeders Association®. Your information will be disclosed where we are obliged or permitted by law. Also, if you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content anywhere on or to The Dog Breeders Association® website or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on The Dog Breeders Association® website, The Dog Breeders Association® can use whatever information that is available to it about you to stop such behaviour. We reserve the right to remove profiles of any registrant at anytime and restrict access without notice.

We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested, and remove it in the event that the purpose has been met, or, in the case of The Dog Breeders Association® membership you no longer wish to continue your registration as a The Dog Breeders Association® member. Where personal information is held for people who are not yet registered but have taken part in other Dog Breeders Association® services (e.g. competitions), that information will be held as long as is necessary to ensure that the service is run smoothly. We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

If you are notified on a The Dog Breeders Association® site that your information may be used to allow The Dog Breeders Association® to contact you for "service administration purposes", this means that The Dog Breeders Association® may contact you for a number of purposes related to the service you have signed up for. For example, we may wish to provide you with password reminders or notify you that the particular service has been suspended for maintenance.

Is the information transferred to a third party?

No. The Dog Breeders Association® does not sell trade or rent your information to others. Any information you provide to The Dog Breeders Association® will only be used within the company.
