The Maltese Terrier who has an ASBO
When you first see Bonnie you would think she was a cute bundle of white fluff that could not harm a fly so when it was discovered that she had an ASBO against her it really did fluommox me as to what could such a cute dog do to deserve the ASBO? The problem arose at the front door of dog owner's house. The first that Bel Mooney, Bonnie's owner heard about the problem is when she received a letter on Royal Mail headed paper detailing that it has been brought to their attention that postal staff are experiencing difficulties in delivering her mail due to an 'aggressive animal'. Bel Mooney thought that this was laughable as Bonnie is so small but as many dog owners will realise non-dog owners are often fearful of the noise dogs make when in fact their bark is a lot worse than their bite. The letter warned "Under the Act it is an offence for any person in charge of a dog..to allow it to become dangerously out of control and as such, if the dog injuries person or property, the owner...will be held liable." A few days later Bel had a visitor at the door - it was a burly young man delivering a package from a private despatch company. As usual Bonnie was yapping away however (unlike the postman) the courier was undeterred. Bel asked him "Hey, would you be bothered by this dog?" and described her tale to the man. The courier replied "Those postmen - they're havin' a laugh right? Wait till I tell the lads at the depot." He was still laughing as he got into his van.
