Dog falls down mineshaft
A two year old patterdale terrier was out walking with her owner Shaun Panter near Minsterley, Shropshire when she fell down the mineshaft.

Tess, fell down the disused shaft and landed 33.5metres below in a foot of water but luckily managed to swim and crawl up onto a ledge. The distressed pooch
was stuck down the mineshaft for a terrifying seven hours until her rescue.

Shaun Panter, Tess' owner called the RSPCA who then in turn contacted Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighter, Guy Williams said Tess landed in the water but then crawled up a few inches onto a ledge to a disused tunnel. "It would be fair to say
she was very pleased to see her rescuer and responded with copious barking and a few paws" he said.

Make sure when you are out and about walking your beloved dogs, that you keep a very close eye on them!
